Cadaqués in November is cool and quiet: at Roses, the nearest Meteocat station, the average high for 2016 to 2025 is 17.8 °C and the average low 8.6 °C, with around eight days of strong tramontana. Dalí's house opens Tuesday to Sunday and the Espai Cap de Creus sees out its last month of the year.
In November Cadaqués is already a winter village, but not quite. Dalí's house opens Tuesday to Sunday, the lighthouse centre sees out its last month and the village runs its own calendar of chestnuts, vermouth with live music and walks through its history. This is what the official weather and sea data say, and what is open, for anyone who has already booked their dates.
The weather: Meteocat's figures
Catalonia's weather service, the Meteocat, has no automatic station in Cadaqués; the nearest in its network is at Roses. Using its daily data for every November from 2016 to 2025, the average high comes out at 17.8 °C and the average low at 8.6 °C. The Cadaqués tourism website warns that the village, cut off from the rest of the Alt Empordà by the mountain of Pení, has a climate of its own, so treat these as a guide.
The extremes help with packing: over those ten years, the coldest November day dropped to 0.0 °C, on 20 November 2019, and the warmest reached 25.0 °C. A mid-season jacket and something warmer for the evenings cover most of the month.
Rain comes in spells. At Roses, November has brought anything from 4 mm (2017) to 122 mm (2021), with an average of 56 mm and around six days with at least a millimetre.
The month of the tramontana
November is when the tramontana makes itself felt. Counting days with northerly gusts of 50 km/h or more at Roses, the average is about eight, against three in June and five in October on the same calculation. It varies a lot: fifteen in 2021 and four in 2016 and in 2018.
The tourism website notes that it sometimes blows for a few days and occasionally for a whole week. On those days the sun shines, but the seafront is unbearable without a windproof; what to do then is in the tramontana guide and in Cadaqués on a rainy day.
What the sea is like
The nearest official reference is the sea temperature the Meteocat publishes for L'Estartit, measured by observer Josep Pascual with the Institut de Ciències del Mar near the Medes islands. On its 2025 chart, the November surface average was 17.0 °C, three degrees below that October's 20.0 °C.
With the water at 17 °C, swimming is for people used to cold water who pick a windless day. For everyone else, November is a month for looking at the sea from the coastal paths, such as the one to the Cala Nans lighthouse.
What stays open, and when
The Casa Salvador Dalí at Portlligat opens from 1 November to 31 December, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:30 to 18:00, according to the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí (checked in October 2026). Last entry is 40 minutes before closing and booking is always required. In 2026 it also opens, exceptionally, on Monday 9 November.
The Espai Cap de Creus, in the lighthouse, opens from March to November, so November is its last month of the year: every day from 10:00 to 15:00, and its exhibition is free according to the Natural Park. The Museu de Cadaqués, on Carrer Narcís Monturiol, opens out of season on Monday and Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 17:30 and on Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00, and closes on Tuesday; the tourism website warns that hours vary with each exhibition.
The tourist office on Carrer Cotxe opens in November Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, and is closed on Sunday. In 2026 the lighthouse road was only closed to traffic on 1 November, from 9:30 to 19:00; the rest of the month you can drive up. That day, the last of the shuttle season, the bus runs from Corral d'en Morell between 8:00 and 18:30.
What the village organises
November is a month when the calendar is made for locals, and anyone staying a few days slips into it easily. By mid-October 2026 the tourism website had not yet published this November's programme, but 2025's gives an idea: chestnuts on the promenade on 1 and 2 November; the Es nostro poble series, with a talk about the cemetery at the Sant Baldiri chapel, a visit to the cemetery, films of an older Cadaqués and a walk round the old farmhouses of Cap de Creus on the 29th.
There was also vermouth with live music, the Festival Daltabaix, on Sundays 16, 23 and 30 at 12:30 on the terrace of the Societat l'Amistat, whose story is told in the Casino guide; a Santa Cecília morning on the 22nd devoted to the church organ; traditional cooking workshops, A Cadaqués, oli i peix, on the 13th and 27th with advance sign-up; and theatre on the 29th in aid of the Fundació Hospital de Cadaqués. Before you come, check the tourism website's calendar.
1 November is a public holiday; in 2027 it falls on a Monday, according to Catalonia's official calendar of public holidays. If your trip runs into December, the festival on the 18th and the January closure of Dalí's house are in Cadaqués in winter, and the month before is in Cadaqués in October.
