The Dalí Triangle joins three of Dalí's houses: Portlligat, next to Cadaqués; the Theatre-Museum in Figueres; and the castle at Púbol. Figueres sits in the middle, about 40 km from each, and the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí asks for a minimum of two days. There is no joint ticket. From Cadaqués: one day for Portlligat and another for Figueres and Púbol.
The Dalí Triangle is three of Dalí's houses in the Empordà: the one at Portlligat, next to Cadaqués; the Theatre-Museum in Figueres; and the castle at Púbol. Joined on a map they form a triangle, and that is how the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, which runs all three, presents them. The practical question is how to do it. The short answer: in two days at least, with three separate tickets and an eye on the calendar, because in winter two of the three close for several weeks.

What the triangle is and what each house is
The Fundació calls the Dalí Triangle the shape you draw on a map of Catalonia by joining Púbol, Portlligat and Figueres.
The Dalí Theatre-Museum stands in the former Municipal Theatre of Figueres, destroyed by a fire at the end of the Civil War. Dalí built it on those ruins as "the largest surrealist object in the world" and it opened on 28 September 1974. Dalí died on 23 January 1989 and is buried in a crypt beneath the geodesic dome.
The Salvador Dalí House in Portlligat was his home and his studio. He began buying fishermen's huts in 1930 and joined them up over decades; after Gala's death, in 1982, he stopped living there. It is a walk from Cadaqués and we cover it properly in our guide to Dalí in Cadaqués and Portlligat.
The Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol is a medieval complex documented since the 11th century. Dalí bought it in 1969 as a gift for Gala and they restored it together. Gala is buried in its crypt, and between 1982 and 1984 it was Dalí's last studio. It opened to the public in 1996.
Distances: about 40 kilometres between each house
The Fundació warns in its FAQ that you should allow for a journey of at least 40 kilometres between one museum and the next. Figueres sits in the middle: about 40 km from Portlligat and another 40 km from Púbol. Visit Costa Brava puts the full route at about 80 km, from Portlligat to Púbol via Figueres.
By car, the Fundació gives for Portlligat the AP-7, exit 4 (Figueres), then the C-260 and the GI-614. For Púbol, the AP-7, exit 6 (Girona Nord), and the C-66 towards Palamós; the public car park is 150 metres from the castle. Without a car, Púbol is the awkward corner: the R11 train stops at Flaçà, about 5 km away, and there are taxis from there.
Which order to do it in from Cadaqués
Asked whether the three museums fit into a single day, the Fundació answers "No" and asks for a minimum of two days. From Cadaqués, the split that repeats the least road is this one.
Day one, Portlligat. You walk there from the village and the visit takes about an hour, with a 30-minute accompanied part. It is the house with the smallest capacity and you must book a day and time in advance: fix it first. How to get a slot is in our guide to Portlligat tickets.
Day two, Figueres and Púbol, in that order. Figueres is on the way and its museum needs between an hour and a half and two hours. Then come the other 40 km to Púbol, which takes an hour and a quarter on average, along a one-way circuit. It is the same order Visit Costa Brava suggests: start at Portlligat and finish at Púbol.
If you are arriving in Cadaqués from Barcelona or Girona, you can flip it: Púbol and Figueres on the travel day, on the way to the village, and Portlligat once you are settled.
Tickets: three separate ones, no joint discount
There is no joint ticket. The Fundació is blunt about it: each museum has its own entry conditions and its own ticket. The pages for Figueres, Portlligat and Púbol show no discount for visiting all three. The only combined ticket the Theatre-Museum advertises is with La Pedrera, in Barcelona.
Standard prices, checked in October 2026: Figueres, from €18.50; Portlligat, €15.50 online for the house and olive grove (€18.50 in July and August); Púbol, €10 online and €12 at the ticket office (€12 and €14 in July and August). All three are free from 0 to 8 years. Confirm on salvador-dali.org before buying.
Winter closures and Mondays
This is where plans go wrong. Portlligat closes from 7 January to 11 February. Púbol closes for longer: from 7 January to 27 February. Figueres has no winter closure. Between 12 and 27 February, then, the triangle is down to two corners.
Mondays matter too. Figueres and Púbol close on Mondays all year except in summer: Figueres opens daily in July and August, and Púbol from 1 July to 6 September. Portlligat opens every day from 1 April to 31 October and closes on Mondays from November to March. All three open exceptionally on some public holidays, such as 9 November and 7 December, and close on 1 January and 25 December.
Autumn hours, checked in October 2026: Figueres, Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 18:00; Portlligat, every day from 10:30 to 18:00 until 31 October; Púbol, Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 18:00 until 1 November and from 10:30 to 17:00 from the 2nd. At Figueres and Púbol you can go in until 45 minutes before closing.
