A general ticket costs 30 euros. The prices page has no 2-for-1 and no large-family discount.

How much a ticket costs
A day ticket costs the same at the ticket office as online: 30 euros general (age 11 and over), 23 euros for children aged 5 to 10, 15 euros for children aged 3 to 4 and 25 euros for over-65s. Children aged 0 to 2 get in free without a ticket.
There is also the Flexiticket, online only, which does not make you choose a day or time: you get 90 days to go whenever suits you. It costs more: 35 euros general, 28 euros for children aged 5 to 10, 17 euros for ages 3 to 4 and 30 euros for over-65s. Buying ahead does not make a day ticket cheaper, but the aquarium says it lets you skip the queues.
The official discounts
The real saving is in the packs, which are bought online. The family pack of 2 general and 2 child tickets costs 88 euros, against the 106 euros they add up to separately if the children are 5 to 10. The pack of 1 general and 2 child tickets costs 63 euros, against 76 euros. The Friends Pack, 4 general tickets, costs 100 euros instead of 120.
For people with functional diversity, the general ticket costs 20 euros and the child ticket 14 euros, on showing the accrediting card at the ticket office. If the degree is 65 % or higher, the ticket includes a free companion.
Two rules worth knowing before you go, according to the aquarium's FAQ: discounts only apply when shown at the ticket office, not when buying online, and offers cannot be combined.
Carnet Jove, Club Super3, large families and 2-for-1
Checked in October 2026: the L'Aquàrium discount page on the official Carnet Jove website is no longer available, and on Club Super3 the aquarium activities are listed as no longer available. The aquarium's official prices page has no large-family discount and no 2-for-1. If you see one of these discounts somewhere, ask at the ticket office before counting on it.
What does work for a family is the family pack, and for anyone planning to come back, the membership card.
The membership card: if you will go back
The membership card lets you go in as many times as you like for a year from purchase, without queuing, with 10 % off at the café and the shop. The individual card costs 59 euros from age 11, 45 euros for ages 5 to 10 and 31 euros for ages 3 to 4. The family card, for 2 adults and 2 children, costs 204 euros. If you do not buy it online there is a 12-euro joining fee, except on the card for ages 3 to 4.
The sums are simple: two general day tickets cost 60 euros, more than the individual card bought online. For anyone living in Barcelona for a few months, with children or keen to watch the sharks being fed more than once, it pays off from the second visit.
Opening hours
L'Aquàrium opens 365 days a year from 10.00. Closing time varies by day, between 19.00, 20.00 and 21.00, and the website publishes it on its calendar. The ticket office and entrance close an hour before the centre.
The aquarium recommends allowing at least 2 hours. With your ticket you can stay as long as you like on the same day, but once you leave you cannot go back in.
What you see: the tunnel and the Oceanarium
L'Aquàrium opened in 1995 and has 80 tanks holding eleven thousand animals of more than 600 species, mostly from the Mediterranean. The largest is the Oceanarium, 36 metres across and 5.2 deep, which you walk beneath through a transparent tunnel more than 80 metres long, the longest in Europe according to the aquarium itself. Overhead swim sand tiger sharks and sandbar sharks, along with rays, morays and gilthead bream.
Feeding times are what people look for most: divers feed the sharks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at around 12.00, except public holidays, and the Humboldt penguins eat at 11.30 and 16.30 in the Planeta Aqua hall. The aquarium warns that times can change depending on the animals' welfare. If you are going with children, the guide to Barcelona with kids fits this visit into a three-day plan.
